Background

Domaine Passy le Clou, owned by the Descombe family, has 21 plots scattered throughout the Chablisien, each of them vinified independently in order to be as close as possible to the expression of the terroir.

Tasting

Bright squirts of lemon and lime are offset by struck flint and crushed stone in this easy-drinking, earthen Chardonnay. Light bodied and steely, it's an apt pairing for oysters on the half shell or mussels in white wine.

Comment

This Petit Chablis comes from just two hectares, in a slightly cooler zone than the Chablis, with Portlandian soils. Emphasizing the fruit rather than mineral aspects of these classic wines.
